Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoon Chung Kim! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshi Doi! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doi connects with a solid leg kick. Doi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kim's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Doi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Doi stands up from guard. Let's bang! Kim throws a body kick that misses. Doi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kim looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kim struggling a bit here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kim is looking for a sweep. Kim is working hard here to advance position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Doi advances nicely into full mount. Kim working to try and regain half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Doi avoids the attempt from Kim to control. Kim wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Kim is looking to get to half guard. Doi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kim has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Doi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kim can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Doi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kim tries to hold on but Doi postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kim keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Doi wants to control the pace but Kim is squirming around nicely. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Kim can't escape the position.
Kim knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Doi on the ground. Doi controlling his opponent. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kim wants to control but Doi is having none of it. Kim throwing hammer fists to the chest of Doi. What's that going to do exactly? Kim tries to hold on but Doi postures up. Doi looking to secure an arm triangle but Kim defends it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Doi controlling the pace for now. Kim is looking to get to half guard. Kim tries to hold on but Doi pushes him away. Doi sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Doi stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Kim tries to close the distance and clinch but Doi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kim moves in looking to clinch but Doi pushes him off. Doi shoots in and gets a takedown into Kim's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Doi gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Doi wants to clinch up but Kim keeps it at a distance. Kim tries to clinch up but Doi circles away and keeps his distance. Doi lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Doi gets the takedown into side control. Kim tries to improve position but can't. Kim is breathing heavily. Kim taking a bit of punishment here - Doi scoring with strikes. Kim tries to bench press Doi off him but Doi keeps the position. Kim being controlled for a moment. Kim can't do much from the bottom here. Doi wants to control but Kim is keeping him busy. Doi stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Doi looks for a takedown but Kim sprawls well. Doi throws a series of strikes that have Kim backpedaling.
Kim swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Doi shoots in and gets a takedown into Kim's guard. Doi stays in close to Kim's body and controls the position. Kim keeping moving, preventing Doi from controlling successfully. Kim had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Doi defends it easily. Doi sitting in guard here, content to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Yoshi Doi was stalling too much, according to the referee. Doi misses with a series of wild punches.
Doi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kim sprawls well. Kim wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Doi gets slowly back to his feet. Doi fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Yoon Chung Kim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshi Doi. Kim swinging wildly here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Doi drives through with a takedown into guard. Kim trying to keep a closed guard but Doi is proving a slippery customer.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Kim looking for subs off his back but Doi has passed one foot through into half guard.
Doi trying to mount his opponent but Kim defends it. Doi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Doi prevents Kim from standing back up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Doi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Doi lands in his opponent's guard. Doi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Doi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Doi stands up and waves to Kim to follow him. Doi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kim manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Doi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Doi has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Kim tries a head kick but it misses.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Doi with a hook. Doi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Doi trying to mount his opponent but Kim defends it. Kim wants to control but Doi is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kim wants to improve his position but Doi is controlling well.
Kim is looking to control Doi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kim avoid being mounted? Kim tries to kick Doi off but Doi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Doi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Doi gets a takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yoshi Doi dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Doi in particular looking to stall. Doi is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kim! Doi stands up from mount. Strange move. Doi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kim swivels and escapes. Kim throws a nice looking combination but Doi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Doi dives in and grabs Kim's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kim pushes down on Doi's head and hops out. Kim slips a jab and a cross from Doi.
Doi is breathing heavily. Kim tries to bum rush Doi with a series of wild strikes but Doi uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Doi fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Yoon Chung Kim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshi Doi.

Kim is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Doi is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Doi looking to control and managing it successfully. Kim tries to hold on but Doi postures up. Here come the fireworks! Doi looking to score a takedown here. Kim is defending well but Doi drives through and ends up in Kim's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Doi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kim swivels though and keeps the full guard. Doi advances to half guard.

Well, if Doi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Doi has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Doi controlling the position easily from mount. Doi lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Kim hang on? Doi sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kim throwing hammer fists to the chest of Doi. What's that going to do exactly?
And that's the end of the fight! Yoshi Doi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Doi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
