Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Decio Dantas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dantas comes to the ring accompanied by Ah Lelek Lek Lek Lek. Decio Dantas looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Decio Dantas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Jones! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones tries to clinch up but Dantas circles away and keeps his distance. Jones clinches. Dantas lands a hook that snaps the head of Jones backwards. Jones drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dantas gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Dantas gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Dantas tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard. Jones pulls Dantas in close to his closed guard and prevents Dantas from doing any damage or advancing position. Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Joe Jones wasn't active enough on the ground. Jones gets a double leg takedown into Dantas's guard. Dantas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to keep Dantas in close.
Jones has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Dantas has passed into side control.
Dantas slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Jones. Jones is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Jones tries to lock up and control but Dantas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't. Dantas controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dantas as he avoids it easily.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Jones shoots in and drives through. Dantas sprawls well. Decio Dantas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Jones. Jones looks winded! Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dantas swivels and escapes. Dantas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Dantas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jones's guard now. Dantas seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Dantas slips nicely into half guard. Dantas scoring with strikes to the body and head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dantas looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Dantas moves into full mount! Jones won't be happy about that! Dantas connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Dantas controlling the position easily from mount. Dantas tries to control but Jones wriggling away.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Dantas fails to take his opponent's back. Jones is squirming around, avoiding Dantas's attempts to control the action.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Dantas is landing with some decent strikes but Jones is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Dantas in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Dantas prevents Jones from getting the reversal. Dantas wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely. Dantas content just to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Decio Dantas dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Dantas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jones looks for a takedown but Dantas sprawls well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dantas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jones's guard now. Decio Dantas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Jones. Jones is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is trying to control the position but Dantas postures up. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Joe Jones wasn't active enough on the ground. Jones looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Dantas is adopting a defensive guard. Dantas's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Joe Jones has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dantas as he jumps to the side. Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dantas is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Dantas circles away and we're back to standing. Joe Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dantas as he jumps to the side. Jones looks for a takedown but Dantas sprawls well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Dantas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jones's guard now. Dantas scoring with punches to the head and body. Dantas is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dantas passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Jones gets back to half guard. Jones is trying to get back to full guard. Jones is trying to maintain the position but Dantas is very close to passing his half guard.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Dantas not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Dantas lands with a punch from half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dantas connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple. Dantas sitting and controlling from the half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Joe Jones was stalling too much, according to the referee. Jones shoots in for a double leg but Dantas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Joe Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dantas as he avoids it easily. Jones fails with the takedown and Dantas counters with a takedown into side control.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Dantas laying and praying for a moment but Jones takes advantage and regains half guard. Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dantas is working away from the top position though. Well, if Dantas is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Joe Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones fails with the takedown and Dantas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! Decio Dantas showed his dominance in that final round. I think Dantas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
