Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Norifumi Yamabotcho! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boston Dean! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dean misses with a shot to the body and Yamabotcho counters with a one-two to the body. Good shot there by Dean. No luck with that takedown attempt from Yamabotcho. Dean throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Yamabotcho tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dean is in Yamabotcho's guard. Dean working some strikes from top position. Yamabotcho knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dean on the ground. Dean lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Dean trying to control but Yamabotcho is working from the bottom. Yamabotcho on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Yamabotcho tries to get out of the position. Dean pushing down on Yamabotcho's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Nice strikes from Dean there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Yamabotcho is staying active underneath Dean, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Dean throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Dean is nestled in close to Yamabotcho, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Dean takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yamabotcho trying to control from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Dean is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Dean trying to control from half guard but Yamabotcho is working away. Dean passes to side control. Dean has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. You can see the frustration on Yamabotcho's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Dean scoring with punches from side control. Dean lands a nice forearm strike. Yamabotcho takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Dean wants to control but Yamabotcho is keeping him busy. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dean lands an elbow. You can see the frustration on Yamabotcho's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Dean working the body and head with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yamabotcho taking punishment in the form of punches.
Dean is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Dean working the ground and pound. Dean just content to control the position. Yamabotcho on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Yamabotcho is rocked! Dean passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Yamabotcho! Oh Yamabotcho is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Dean unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Yamabotcho wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Dean celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Boston Dean! After the fight, Boston Dean was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
