The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russell throws a jab but it's blocked by Lott.
Russell looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Lott changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Russell tries to avoid it but Lott manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Russell to the ground. Russell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Russell throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Colton Russell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lott gets a powerful takedown and that's hurt Russell.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Lott is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Russell has escaped the position, nice work there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lott thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Lott is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Russell is trying to escape and Lott transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Russell is forced to tap! Nice work there by Lott! Very nice indeed!
