Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Truck Reigh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Reijo Laamanen!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reigh avoids a punch combination nicely.
Laamanen stuffs the takedown.
Laamanen fails to land with a series of punches.
Laamanen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Laamanen misses with a series of wild punches.
Reigh shoots in but Laamanen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Reigh drives through and clinches with Laamanen against the cage.
Laamanen is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Laamanen wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Laamanen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Reigh has him pressed against the cage.
Laamanen can't break the clinch.
Reigh leaning against his opponent.
Reigh misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Laamanen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reigh throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Laamanen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Reigh tries to bum rush Laamanen with a series of wild strikes but Laamanen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Reigh slips a jab and a cross from Laamanen.
Laamanen falls off balance throwing a combination
and Reigh counters with a three punch combo that has Laamanen backing up. Laamanen nods at Reigh to acknowledge the strikes.
Reigh throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Laamanen's waist but Laamanen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Reigh off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Truck Reigh. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Laamanen wants to clinch.
A combination from Reigh does no damage.
Reigh looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Laamanen!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reigh trying to control but he's not successful this time.
You get the feeling that Laamanen really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Reigh cracks Laamanen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Laamanen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Laamanen holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Reigh tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Laamanen tries to reverse the position but Reigh maintains control.
Reigh is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Laamanen darts in trying to clinch
and Reigh cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Laamanen swinging wilding here.
Laamanen lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Laamanen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reigh swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Laamanen tries to bum rush Reigh with a series of wild strikes but Reigh uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Whack! Laamanen lands a heavy head kick that drops Reigh. The ref tackles Laamanen to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Reigh was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Reijo Laamanen!
