Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rex Botic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rex Botic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Swanson! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Botic with a poor takedown and Swanson counters with a right hand to the body. Botic tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Swanson was well out of range. Poor timing from Botic. Botic shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Swanson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Botic doesn't succeed with the takedown and Swanson counters with a lovely shot to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rex Botic. That's going to take a lot out of him. Botic throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Swanson was covering up waiting for the punch and Botic finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Swanson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Botic is aware though and is defending well. Botic drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Botic jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Botic avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Botic sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Swanson's guard. Botic has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Swanson is desperately trying to improve his position but Botic has a good base and remains in mount. Botic looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Botic has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Swanson is forced to tap!
