The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kontiovaara closes this distance looking for a takedown but Diaz circles away.
Kontiovaara throws a half hearted mid kick.
Kontiovaara throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Diaz counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kontiovaara thinking.
A jab from Diaz finds it's way through Kontiovaara's defenses.
Kontiovaara has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Kontiovaara takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt
and Kontiovaara counters with a stiff right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kontiovaara pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Diaz back to the cage. Kontiovaara follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Kontiovaara looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Diaz throws a looping overhand right but Kontiovaara ducks down to avoid it.

Kontiovaara lands a left and a right that send Diaz crashing to the mat, dazed. Kontiovaara thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Diaz is rocked!
Diaz throws a low kick, looking for Kontiovaara's leg but Kontiovaara calmly moves out of range.
Oh Diaz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kontiovaara wobbles Diaz with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Kontiovaara dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Diaz to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!
