Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luis Fierro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and German Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luis Fierro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, German Valdez! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valdez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fierro circles away. Valdez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fierro sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Nice sprawl there from Fierro as Valdez shoots in. Luis Fierro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of German Valdez. Valdez gets a double leg takedown into Fierro's guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Valdez controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Fierro wants to sweep here but Valdez controlling him for the moment. Fierro looking to control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Valdez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fierro's waist but Fierro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Valdez off to one side. Valdez closes the distance and clinches up with Fierro, looking for a takedown. Valdez pushes Fierro against the cage but Fierro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Valdez fails to land the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fierro throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Fierro stuffs the takedown attempt from Valdez. Valdez gets slowly back to his feet. Valdez fails to land the takedown. Fierro throws a jab but it's blocked by Valdez. Valdez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fierro quickly recovers to half guard. Valdez slows the pace down in half guard. Valdez's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up. German Valdez was stalling too much, according to the referee. Valdez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Valdez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fierro is looking for a sweep. Fierro looks to move to half guard but instead Valdez has passed into mount! Damn! Valdez controlling from the full mount. Fierro tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valdez looking to control and managing it successfully. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
German Valdez dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Valdez walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Valdez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fierro looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Valdez staying calm. Fierro looks to move to half guard but instead Valdez has passed into mount! Damn!
That's one minute gone in the round. Valdez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Fierro is desperately trying to improve his position but Valdez has a good base and remains in mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valdez content just to control the position here. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Let's hope that Valdez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. German Valdez hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Valdez shoots in for a takedown but Fierro shows good takedown defense. No luck with that takedown attempt from Valdez. Valdez shoots in for a double leg but Fierro sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Luis Fierro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of German Valdez. Fierro tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Valdez was well out of range. Poor timing from Fierro. Valdez looking to score a takedown here. Fierro is defending well but Valdez drives through and ends up in Fierro's guard. Fierro wants to control but Valdez passes easily into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Valdez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
German Valdez has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Valdez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Valdez is controlling the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
German Valdez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Valdez is defended easily by Fierro. Valdez shoots in for a double leg but Fierro sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Valdez misses with a takedown attempt - Fierro sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Luis Fierro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of German Valdez. Fierro gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Fierro looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valdez is one step ahead there. German Valdez has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valdez advances to half guard. Valdez uses his free foot to push down on Fierro's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Fierro. Fierro really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. German Valdez wasn't active enough on the ground. Valdez shoots for a double leg takedown but Fierro sprawls well. He's pushed Valdez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Luis Fierro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valdez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Fierro controls Valdez momentarily but Valdez frees himself. Valdez content to stall in guard here. German Valdez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. German Valdez wasn't active enough on the ground. Fierro throws a wild combination but nothing lands. German Valdez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Valdez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Luis Fierro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Valdez passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fierro!
And that's the end of the fight! German Valdez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Valdez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
