Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Trezeguet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, David Trezeguet!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trezeguet throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Trezeguet has managed to clinch.
Trezeguet is pressed up against the cage. Smith has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Trezeguet down to the mat. Trezeguet avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Smith checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Trezeguet shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith is bucking up trying to escape but Trezeguet cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Trezeguet lands a big shot there that rocks Smith but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Let's hope that Trezeguet has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

It looks like Trezeguet might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Trezeguet really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. David Trezeguet wasn't active enough on the ground.

David Trezeguet seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Trezeguet lands a nice leg kick that just misses Smith's sensitive parts.
Trezeguet is looking to chop away at Smith's legs.
Trezeguet fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smith.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

A head kick lands from Trezeguet that sends Smith to the canvas. Smith tries to scramble back to his feet but Trezeguet brings him back down into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Joe Smith has been cut.

Trezeguet throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smith was covering up waiting for the punch and Trezeguet finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Trezeguet controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. David Trezeguet was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Trezeguet has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Trezeguet tries to land a leg kick but Smith saw it coming and moves away.
Trezeguet connects with a leg kick. Smith looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Trezeguet is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Smith can't fight it off and eventually Trezeguet manages to take the fight to the floor. Smith looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Trezeguet is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Trezeguet forces his way into half guard.
Trezeguet looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smith with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Trezeguet seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Trezeguet connects with a nice short shot to Smith's temple.
Smith really is a fat lump.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. David Trezeguet hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Trezeguet thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Smith if he has to take too many more of those.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Trezeguet has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Smith clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Smith rolls, trying to escape but Trezeguet keeps control of the position.
Smith is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

David Trezeguet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Trezeguet feints and as Smith raises his hands in defense, Trezeguet changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Trezeguet remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well Trezeguet has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
