Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wade Reams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Doestevsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doestevsky comes into a darkened arena with his song building. New Divide kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Samuel Doestevsky has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wade Reams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Samuel Doestevsky! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doestevsky fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Reams sprawls well initially but Doestevsky persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Doestevsky is trying to control the action in half guard but Reams is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Doestevsky is pressing down on Reams's thigh, looking to free his foot. Reams is holding on for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reams is trying to get back to full guard. Doestevsky is thwarting Reams's attempts to control the position. Reams is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Doestevsky is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doestevsky prevents Reams from improving his position. Doestevsky stands up from half guard. Doestevsky drives through with a takedown into guard. Doestevsky throws an elbow that misses. Reams uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Doestevsky's guard. Nice move by Reams! Doestevsky looking to control.
Reams is looking to work some ground and pound but Doestevsky has wrist control. Doestevsky trying to keep a closed guard but Reams is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reams stands and throws Doestevsky's legs to the side, diving into side control. Reams throws a strike aimed at the side of Doestevsky's head but Doestevsky avoids it well. Reams swings around for an armbar but Doestevsky sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Reams's guard. Reams trying to keep a closed guard but Doestevsky is proving a slippery customer.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Doestevsky wants to get up but he can't break Reams's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Doestevsky looks winded! Doestevsky trying to control the position from guard on top but Reams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Doestevsky drops back, looking for a kneebar! Reams looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Reams looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Reams! Doestevsky is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reams tries to advance to mount but can't. Reams looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Doestevsky is avoiding damage well.
You can see the frustration on Doestevsky's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Doestevsky regains half guard there - taking advantage of Reams's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Reams looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Doestevsky with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Doestevsky wants to get back to full guard. Doestevsky trying to control here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Doestevsky works his way to full guard. Good work. Reams throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Doestevsky not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Doestevsky wants to work for an arm triangle but Reams is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Reams works his way to full guard. Good work. Reams is looking for a triangle but Doestevsky pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Reams escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Doestevsky gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Doestevsky stopping the sweep attempt from Reams. Reams working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Doestevsky doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Doestevsky manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Doestevsky trying to move into half guard but instead Reams has managed to sweep! Doestevsky controlling Reams's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Doestevsky has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Reams's corner is telling him to maintain position. Reams trying to control but Doestevsky is working from the bottom. Doestevsky is trying to keep Reams in close.

Possibly, maybe, no Doestevsky has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Reams tries to bench press Doestevsky off him but Doestevsky keeps the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Reams is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Doestevsky off and has taken his back! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Doestevsky manages to reverse the position and now he's in Reams's guard. Nice work there by Doestevsky.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wade Reams. Well Doestevsky has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
