Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Almaz Method (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Almaz Method is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anthony Pettis !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Almaz Method!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Method feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pettis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Method is aware though and is defending well.
Method distracts Pettis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Method is pushing down on Pettis 's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pettis is fighting to maintain full guard but Method has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Method postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Pettis to stand up.

Method throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pettis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Method is in Pettis 's guard.
Method is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Method sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pettis 's guard.

Method is looking for a kimura here.

Method is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Pettis is looking to improve his position.

Method seems to be looking for submissions.
Method stalling.
Method passes the guard and advances to mount!
Pettis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Method on the ground.
Pettis is wriggling around trying to escape.

Method is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Pettis is forced to tap! Great finish!
