The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Baird. Those never looked like landing.
Sapp slaps away a takedown attempt from Baird, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sapp is looking to slow Baird down with leg kicks.
Baird really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Baird takes a shot to the body in his stride.

No joy there for Baird, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Baird rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sapp moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Baird can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sapp controls the pace.
Sapp working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Sapp must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Sapp looking to sit in guard and control but Baird gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters circle momentarily. Sapp darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Sapp fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Sapp is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Baird had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Baird has taken the fight to the clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ziggy Sapp dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Sapp moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Baird throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sapp stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sapp with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Baird to score with a decent uppercut.
Baird lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Baird throws a nice looking combination but Sapp bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Ziggy Sapp seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Sapp scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Baird doesn't seem bothered though.

OH! Baird has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Sapp smells blood and charges in for the finish! Sapp unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Baird sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
