Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jerome Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Troy Lancaster! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Roberts and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lancaster sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Lancaster dives in and scores a takedown into Johnson's guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Johnson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Johnson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lancaster is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Lancaster scoring with punches to the head and body. Lancaster working some strikes from top position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lancaster cracks Johnson with a solid left hand. Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lancaster can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lancaster tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard. Lancaster got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lancaster has managed to get both his arms back between Johnson's legs - danger averted. Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lancaster slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Lancaster is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Lancaster is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Johnson is rocked! Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lancaster defends it easily. Oh Johnson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Lancaster works over Johnson with some ground and pound from guard. Johnson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Lancaster slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Lancaster has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Johnson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Lancaster is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Johnson pulls down on the head and he's put Lancaster to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jerome Johnson! A relieved looking Jerome Johnson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
