Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Diego Bermudez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Diego Brandao!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandao drops Bermudez with a big left hand and mounts him. Bermudez is in big trouble!
Bermudez is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Brandao is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Oh Bermudez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Brandao is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bermudez.
Brandao throws a poor cross that misses
and Bermudez counters with a single leg into guard. Brandao didn't expect that.
Bermudez is breathing heavily.
Brandao wants to stand up but Bermudez is controlling him.
Bermudez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Brandao is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Bermudez.
Bermudez manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Brandao moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Bermudez! Brandao continues to tee off on Bermudez, landing with a left and a right! Brandao connects with a right hand that leaves Bermudez sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Brandao!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Diego Brandao!
Diego Brandao opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
