Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Fury! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brenden Richey! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richey tries to clinch up. Richey finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Richey checks a leg kick. Fury tries to clinch but Richey moves away and Richey counters with a head kick. Fury goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Richey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Fury throws a right and a left that both miss. Nice takedown defense from Fury. No joy for Richey on that attempt. Fury's jab looks to have found its range, popping Richey under the eye. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fury tries to bum rush Richey with a series of wild strikes but Richey uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Richey gets a takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Fury is looking to control Richey's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fury avoid being mounted? Richey takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fury trying to hold on to Richey's head to control him but Richey postures up.
Richey perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Brenden Richey has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Fury gets a clinch. A frustrated look appears on Fury's face as he tries to break the clinch. Fury is looking to control Richey's arms but Richey gets an underhook and turns him. Now Fury has his back to the cage. Fury wants to get back to striking at distance but Richey won't allow it.
Fury looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Fury stalling in the clinch but Richey improves position. Richey tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fury breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Fury tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Fury feints a jab promting Richey to slip. Fury then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Richey slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Richey dives in and scores a takedown into Fury's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fury is on top in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fury is posturing up here but Richey has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Fury tries to roll out but it's too tight and Fury has to tap! Slick submission there by Richey!
