Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Blaise Lamont (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Holden James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lamont's entrance music is Twisted Nerve. A fine choice. James has chosen Aerials as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Blaise Lamont!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Holden James!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James tries to clinch up.
Lamont looks to score with a jab to the body but James is just out of range.
James misses with a low kick.
James tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lamont is able to avoid easily.
Lamont works James's body with a nice hook.
Lamont scores with a sloppy right hand. James should have avoided that one.

Lamont fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. James sprawls well initially but Lamont persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
James tries to kick Lamont off but Lamont keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Lamont scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Lamont throwing shots but James is blocking nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lamont thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
James on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lamont missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Lamont throws a big elbow that misses.
Lamont throws a strike but James rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Lamont is trying to control the position but James postures up.

Lamont had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. James defends it easily.

Lamont is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lamont isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. James stacks Lamont on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by James!
Lamont tries to improve position but can't.
Lamont is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lamont struggling a bit here.
James wants to stand but Lamont is controlling his arm.

Lamont tries to buck James off but James is having none of it.
James tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Lamont wants to control but James postures up.
Lamont is looking for a sweep.

Lamont is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Lamont is looking to improve his position.
Lamont has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. James is working away from the top position though.
Lamont gets back to full guard.
James would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lamont looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Lamont fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
James stuffs the takedown attempt from Lamont. Lamont gets slowly back to his feet.
James will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
James fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lamont blocks a jab.
A big left from James misses.
James's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lamont connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! James scrambles back to his feet.
Lamont feints a jab promting James to slip. Lamont then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. James slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

James gets tackled into the cage by Lamont. Lamont maintains the clinch.
James pushes off an throws an elbow but Lamont leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
James wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
James stalling in the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James blocks an uppercut.
James has had enough of the clinch but Lamont keeps him there for the moment.
James can't break the clinch.
James is trying to force a seperation but Lamont has the dominant position.
James creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Lamont tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Lamont feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
James wants to stand and escape but Lamont is having none of it.
James avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Lamont lands a couple of elbows.
James is looking to stand up but Lamont isn't so interested in that idea.
Lamont lands a couple of digs.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Lamont scoring with punches to the head and body.

Lamont drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and James dives on top into guard.

Lamont is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Lamont throws his legs up looking for a submission but James uses it to pass to side control.

James stands up.

James closes the distance but Lamont moves to the side
and Lamont counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Lamont moves into the clinch successfully.
James lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lamont backwards.
Lamont is trying to drag James to the mat but James just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Blaise Lamont. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Lamont.
Lamont swings away with an uppercut that misses.
James tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Lamont avoids it.

James breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Lamont fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with James, pushing him back against the cage.

Still in the clinch, Lamont scores with a nice short uppercut.

James wants to break the clinch but can't.
James wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lamont has him pressed against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
James is trying to push Lamont away but Lamont has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Lamont fakes high and swings low for a body shot but James manages to avoid it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lamont lands a nice shot that snaps James's head back.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Lamont misses with a body shot.

James lands a big head kick that sends Lamont tumbling to the mat! James takes a step backwards and waves Lamont back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Lamont is rocked!


It looks like Blaise Lamont has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James stuffs the takedown.
Oh Lamont is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lamont shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. James defends it nicely.
James lands with a thumping leg kick.
Lamont seems to have got his legs back now.

James tries to stall but Lamont uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

James wants to break free but Lamont has control.
James prevents a takedown attempt there.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Lamont is working for takedown but James is calmly controlling the position for now.

Holden James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Lamont avoids the body shot from James.
Lamont tests James's chin there with a solid looking shot.
James misses with a double jab.

Lamont has managed to clinch.
James trying to land knees to the body.
Lamont lands a left hand that snaps the head of James backwards.
Blaise Lamont has scored more points in the clinch so far.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

James is rocked!
Lamont creates a bit of space for himself and rocks James with a big uppercut! James tries to clinch up but Lamont pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples James to the mat! James covers up and Lamont unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Blaise Lamont!
An out of breath Blaise Lamont thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
