Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thor Svenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jevgeni Iljin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Iljin drives through with a takedown into guard.
Iljin postures up in Svenson's guard and throws a big left but Svenson blocks it.
Iljin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Svenson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Svenson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Iljin controls the pace.
Iljin tries to free his leg and advance position but Svenson is retaining full guard.

Iljin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Iljin throws a chopping leg kick but Svenson manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
A choreographed right hand from Svenson misses the target.
Iljin moves away from the strike by Svenson.
Svenson blocks a head kick by Iljin.
Iljin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Iljin there as he acknowledges the shot.
Svenson throws a sloppy head kick and Iljin moves out of range easily.

Iljin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Iljin connects with a nice short shot to Svenson's temple.

Svenson tries to kick Iljin off but Iljin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Iljin is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Svenson reverses the position - he's now on top in Iljin's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Iljin wants to hit a switch here but Svenson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Iljin there!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Iljin wants to hold on but Svenson pushes him away.
Iljin tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Svenson stands up from mount. Strange move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Svenson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Iljin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

A head kick by Svenson - that's a beauty! Iljin is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Svenson can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
