Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Quixote! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Livingston! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Livingston is looking to clinch. Livingston looks for the body kick but Quixote saw that one coming. Quixote waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Livingston. Livingston has taken the fight to the clinch.
Quixote is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Livingston is defending well. Quixote is trying to pull guard but Livingston turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Livingston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Livingston connects with a solid leg kick. Livingston darts in and clinches Quixote up against the cage. Livingston leaning his opponent against the cage. A battle for position here, against the cage. Livingston manages to break the clinch.
Livingston clinches. Quixote fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Quixote. That's going to take a lot out of him. Livingston breaks from the clinch.
Livingston misses with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Livingston gets in close and instigates a clinch. Livingston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Livingston ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Livingston fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Quixote, pushing him back against the cage. Livingston lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Livingston breaks from the clinch.
Livingston closes the distance and clinches. Livingston breaks the clinch.
Livingston blocks a low kick nicely. Livingston drives through and clinches with Quixote against the cage.
Quixote looking to stall.
Livingston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Livingston with a nice cross. Livingston wants to clinch. Livingston throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Quixote tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Livingston is in Quixote's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Livingston is working Quixote over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Livingston being controlled here momentarily. Livingston is looking to work some ground and pound but Quixote has wrist control. Livingston trying to control but Quixote is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Livingston accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Livingston lying in Quixote's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Quixote decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Livingston taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
