1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eric Snapple! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Kolonek with that takedown attempt. Eric Snapple seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Snapple throws a series of punches but Kolonek moves out of range. Snapple stuffs the takedown. Snapple misses with the combination.
Kolonek closes the distance and clinches up with Snapple, looking for a takedown. Kolonek pushes Snapple against the cage but Snapple circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mariusz Kolonek. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kolonek doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Snapple displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Kolonek takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Kolonek has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Snapple utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Kolonek slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kolonek content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Kolonek thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kolonek's corner is telling him to maintain position. Kolonek postures up in Snapple's guard and throws a big left but Snapple blocks it.

Snapple really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kolonek. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd are loving this. Kolonek decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kolonek works his way into side control. Snapple is not content to let Kolonek control the position. Kolonek working the head and body with strikes. Kolonek goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Snapple has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kolonek but great work by Snapple. Kolonek is pushing Snapple's head away, looking to escape. Snapple manages to hold on to the position though. Snapple wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kolonek keeps working. Kolonek is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Snapple has just dragged him back down to the mat. Snapple is breathing heavily.

Kolonek is trying to stand up here but Snapple is controlling him well. Snapple wants to take a breather but Kolonek is having none of it. Kolonek looks like he's trying to stand up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Eric Snapple hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Snapple throws a combination that misses and Kolonek counters with a nice kick to the body. Kolonek moves into the clinch. Kolonek jumps into guard, dragging Snapple to the mat.
Snapple won't allow Kolonek to get back to his feet. Snapple wants to stand and escape but instead Kolonek has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Kolonek keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Snapple's head. Mariusz Kolonek overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kolonek sitting in guard, not really doing much. The ref stands the fighters back up. Mariusz Kolonek wasn't doing enough on the ground. Snapple leaves Kolonek with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. A bone on bone clash there as Kolonek blocks the leg kick.
Snapple throws a nice looking combination but Kolonek bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kolonek drives through with a takedown into guard. Kolonek works over Snapple with some ground and pound from guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kolonek is working Snapple over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Eric Snapple has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mariusz Kolonek is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kolonek controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
And that's the end of the fight! Mariusz Kolonek showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kolonek, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
