Yoshinobi comes to the cage accompanied by Light It Up. Kenjiro Yoshinobi has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshinobi clinches up with The Lion and pushes him back against the cage.
Yoshinobi goes for a takedown in the clinch but The Lion prevents it.
Yoshinobi throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but The Lion blocks it with crossed arms.
Yoshinobi lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like Joey The Lion has been cut.
Yoshinobi successfully pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Lion stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yoshinobi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The Lion drops back looking for a leg! Yoshinobi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yoshinobi manages to kick The Lion off! The Lion jumps back into Yoshinobi's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The Lion tries to free his leg and advance position but Yoshinobi is retaining full guard.
The Lion drops back looking for a leg! Yoshinobi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yoshinobi manages to kick The Lion off! The Lion jumps back into Yoshinobi's guard.
The Lion is pushing down on Yoshinobi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Yoshinobi is fighting to maintain full guard but The Lion has managed to sneak the leg through.

Yoshinobi wants to get back to full guard.
Yoshinobi is positioning himself well to prevent The Lion advancing to mount.
The Lion is trying to work for a kimura but Yoshinobi is defending well.

Yoshinobi is looking for a sweep. The Lion is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The Lion is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yoshinobi is just riding it out for now. The Lion eventually gives up the hold.
Yoshinobi is looking to control The Lion's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Yoshinobi avoid being mounted?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Yoshinobi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with The Lion, pushing him back against the cage.

Yoshinobi turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Yoshinobi manages to end up in side control.

Yoshinobi trying to control but The Lion is working from the bottom.
Yoshinobi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because The Lion is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Yoshinobi moves into the clinch.
Yoshinobi manages to break the clinch.
Yoshinobi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Joey The Lion's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Yoshinobi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The Lion is looking to sinch up a triangle. Yoshinobi throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to The Lion's body to avoid the submission. The Lion has instead reached around Yoshinobi's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! The Lion arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
