Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luis Fierro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and German Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Luis Fierro has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luis Fierro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, German Valdez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fierro stuffs the takedown.
Valdez shoots in for a double leg but Fierro sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Valdez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Fierro on his heels. He'll look to pass Fierro's guard now, I'm sure.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Valdez advances to half guard.
Valdez content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Fierro tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Valdez has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Fierro is looking to improve his position but Valdez isn't that keen on the idea.

Fierro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

It looks like Valdez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

OK we're going to have a standup here. German Valdez hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Valdez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Valdez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fierro is letting Valdez control him for a moment.
Fierro is looking to regain half guard here but Valdez keeps moving and retains side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Luis Fierro.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Fierro seems a little lost for a moment, as Valdez dominates the positioning.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. German Valdez wasn't active enough on the ground.
Valdez shoots in looking for a takedown but Fierro manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Valdez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Fierro throws out a loose jab but Valdez uses good head movement to avoid it.

Valdez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fierro's guard.
German Valdez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Valdez looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

German Valdez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Valdez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
