Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edwin McGregor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rusty Nales! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGregor moves into range and clinches up with Nales. McGregor drops down looking for an ankle pick but Nales pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nales throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Nales misses with a straight left. McGregor lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. A big left from Nales misses. McGregor dips down and scores with a jab to the body. McGregor moves into the clinch successfully.
A frustrated look appears on McGregor's face as he tries to break the clinch. McGregor blocks an elbow strike from Nales.
McGregor can't break the clinch.
McGregor is looking to break free of the clinch but Nales has double underhooks. McGregor is trying to force a seperation but Nales has the dominant position. McGregor is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Nales is trying to break the clinch but McGregor is controlling him. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Nales is looking to break free of the clinch but McGregor has double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGregor is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Nales keeps control of McGregor as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. McGregor goes for a takedown attempt but Nales pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Nales scores with a jab to the jaw.
It looks like Edwin McGregor has been cut. A jab lands there for Nales.
McGregor is rocked! Nales circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends McGregor tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Nales wins by KO!
