Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nick Hoenich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hoenich might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Gibberish. Nick Hoenich looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Hoenich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chad Mendes! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendes looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Hoenich can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mendes controls the pace. Mendes is pushing down on Hoenich's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hoenich is fighting to maintain full guard but Mendes has managed to sneak the leg through. Mendes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Let's hope that Mendes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Mendes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mendes controlling the action here. Mendes is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hoenich has managed to free his arm - good work. Mendes is looking for a kimura but Hoenich is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mendes to get the leverage.

Mendes is taking a breather. Hoenich says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hoenich taking some punishment here, with Mendes in his half guard. Mendes not doing much here.
Hoenich knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mendes on the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mendes is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mendes is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hoenich is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
