Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Poker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Gustafsson tries to bench press Poker off him but Poker keeps the position.

Gustafsson is trying to improve his position.
Gustafsson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Gustafsson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Poker connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gustafsson some visible discomfort.
Gustafsson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poker creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Poker is working Gustafsson over with some ground and pound from side control.

Poker has hold of Gustafsson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Gustafsson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Poker cranks the arm and Gustafsson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Gustafsson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
