PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jean Charles Skarbowsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lukasz Sajewski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skarbowsky comes into the arena with Lux Aeterna blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jean Charles Skarbowsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Lukasz Sajewski!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skarbowsky misses with a body shot.
Skarbowsky wants to land a leg kick but Sajewski is out of range.
Sajewski lands a glancing blow to the side of Skarbowsky's head.
Sajewski misses with an uppercut.
Sajewski smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Sajewski paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Sajewski works over Skarbowsky's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Jean Charles Skarbowsky has been cut.
Skarbowsky takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Skarbowsky avoids the body shot from Sajewski.
Sajewski throws a looping overhand right but Skarbowsky ducks down to avoid it.
Skarbowsky lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Lukasz Sajewski has been cut.

Sajewski connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Skarbowsky throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

and Sajewski moves into the clinch.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Skarbowsky obliges.
Sajewski is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Skarbowsky tries a knee to the head but Sajewski blocks it.

Sajewski postures up in Skarbowsky's guard and throws a big left but Skarbowsky blocks it.

Sajewski has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Skarbowsky throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd cheers as Skarbowsky lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sajewski doesn't seem phased though.

Lukasz Sajewski has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Skarbowsky displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sajewski throws out the jab.
Sajewski fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Skarbowsky lands a leg kick that knocks Sajewski off balance momentarily.

Skarbowsky takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sajewski. Skarbowsky does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sajewski dives in and grabs Skarbowsky's left leg, looking for a takedown. Skarbowsky pushes down on Sajewski's head and hops out.
Sajewski lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Skarbowsky throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Sajewski shoots in looking for a takedown. Skarbowsky tries to sprawl out of it but Sajewski keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Skarbowsky manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sajewski checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Skarbowsky throws a front kick aimed at Sajewski's knee but Sajewski avoids it well.
Skarbowsky throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sajewski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Skarbowsky circles away quickly and effectively.

The crowd cheers as Sajewski lands an impressive looking overhand right. Skarbowsky doesn't seem phased though.

Lukasz Sajewski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Sajewski is taking a breather. Skarbowsky says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Sajewski takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Oh Skarbowsky is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sajewski lands a big elbow - Skarbowsky is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Sajewski!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lukasz Sajewski!
A relieved looking Lukasz Sajewski thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
