Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Franklin Worner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Rothko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Walter Rothko enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Franklin Worner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walter Rothko !
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rothko throws a head kick that half lands.

Worner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rothko shoots in for a double leg but Worner sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rothko is on top in guard.

Franklin Worner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Worner is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Rothko gets his way!

Rothko just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Let's hope that Rothko has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Walter Rothko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Worner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Rothko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Worner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rothko is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Worner is aware though and is defending well.
Rothko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Worner's guard.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Worner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Worner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rothko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Worner tries to avoid it but Rothko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Worner to the ground. Worner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Worner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rothko is keen to just control but Worner is a slippery customer.
Rothko uses his free foot to push down on Worner's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Worner.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Worner is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Horrible takedown by Rothko or perhaps it was just good defense by Worner which made him look bad.

Franklin Worner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Walter Rothko is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Rothko shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Worner defends it nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Franklin Worner.
I think Rothko has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
