Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Deji Koshcheck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kakihara Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koshcheck defending well as Aoki loads up on a big left hand.
Aoki lands a jab-cross combination.
Koshcheck shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Aoki eats them both and turns towards Koshcheck to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Aoki bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Koshcheck's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Koshcheck takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Aoki on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Aoki scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Aoki throws a nice looking combination but Koshcheck bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Aoki swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Aoki misses with a straight right.
Koshcheck throws a left and a right that both miss
and Aoki counters with a three punch combo that has Koshcheck backing up. Koshcheck nods at Aoki to acknowledge the strikes.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Aoki checks a leg kick.
Koshcheck uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Aoki.
Koshcheck plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Aoki feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Koshcheck sprawling to the canvas! Koshcheck rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Aoki finish him?!
Koshcheck is rocked!
Aoki punishes Koshcheck's body with a nice straight punch.
Oh Koshcheck is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Koshcheck slips a jab and a cross from Aoki.
Aoki fakes the body blow, causing Koshcheck to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Koshcheck goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kakihara Aoki!
