PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Alport (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braw Becon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Alport!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Braw Becon!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Becon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alport as he avoids it easily.
Alport leaves Becon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Becon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Becon gets tackled into the cage by Alport. Alport maintains the clinch.
Becon is trying to break the clinch but Alport is controlling him.
Alport lands with a left to the head.

Alport breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Alport moves in looking to clinch but Becon pushes him off.
Alport is looking to slow Becon down with leg kicks.
Alport tries to close the distance and clinch up but Becon swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Alport closes the distance and pushes Becon back into the cage.
Becon keeps control of Alport as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Alport's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Alport lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick by Becon misses
and Alport counters with a slapping leg kick.
Alport throws a head kick that Becon semi-blocks.
Becon throws a lazy body kick

and Alport counters by moving into the clinch.
Alport tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Becon avoids it.
Becon tries to pull guard but Alport holds him up against the cage and eventually Becon drops back down to his feet.
Nick Alport has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Braw Becon.

Alport breaks the clinch.
Alport lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Becon scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Alport stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alport wants it to stay on the feet.
Becon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Becon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alport is trying to control but can't.

Alport is in trouble now - Becon has advanced to mount!
Alport on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Alport tries to get out of the position.
Alport is squirming around, avoiding Becon's attempts to control the action.
Alport tries to hold on but Becon postures up.
Alport is working to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Becon is working for a guillotine from mount but Alport frees his head quite easily.
Alport can't escape the position.
Alport tries to improve his position but instead Becon has taken his back!
Alport can't escape the position.

Becon is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Alport is defending well though. Becon let's go of the attempt for now.
Becon scores with punches to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Becon just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Let's hope that Becon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Becon has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Alport is defending well but eventually Becon manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Alport has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
