Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Ma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luther King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Luther King!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ma lands a slapping body shot.
No luck for King with that takedown attempt.
King misses with a looping right.

and King moves into the clinch.

Ma gets control of King's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ma will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Ma could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ma tries to pull guard but King forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King is looking for a triangle but Ma pushes his legs off easily.

Ma throws a big right hand that misses.

King is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ma is aware though and is defending well.

Ma trying to move into half guard but instead King has managed to sweep!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ma pushes King away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, King gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Ma is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, King asserts his dominance and retains side control.
King takes a little break here. Ma wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ground and pound from King seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

King shoots in looking for a takedown. Ma tries to sprawl out of it but King keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ma manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
King swings for the body but Ma moves out of range.

Ma changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. King tries to avoid it but Ma manages to keep hold of a leg and drag King to the ground. King escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ma is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Ma tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. King just stands there and leans against the cage.

Luther King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Ma leaves King with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
King looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

King takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

King goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Ma lands with an uppercut that bounces King off the cage and back into range.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

King has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ma uses from the top position.

Ma drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ma jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tommy Ma.
Well King has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
