Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simple Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marty Deakes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Simple Hunter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marty Deakes! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter is looking to clinch but Deakes is avoiding it.
Deakes gets caught napping as Hunter dives in and scores a takedown. Deakes manages to retain guard. Hunter throws an elbow that misses. Deakes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hunter's guard. Nice move by Deakes! Deakes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Deakes tries to free his leg and advance position but Hunter is retaining full guard. Deakes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hunter manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Deakes has Hunter in his guard. Deakes tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deakes keeping moving, preventing Hunter from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Simple Hunter just wasn't active enough. Hunter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Deakes was covering up waiting for the punch and Hunter finishes the takedown easily into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deakes keeping moving, preventing Hunter from controlling successfully. Hunter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Deakes on the ground. Deakes is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Hunter is looking to work some ground and pound but Deakes has wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Simple Hunter just wasn't active enough. Hunter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hunter showed some decent athleticism there. Hunter content to control rather than advance. Deakes manages to get to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hunter wants to get up but he can't break Deakes's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Deakes is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Simple Hunter. Hunter has closed the distance and engaged Deakes in a clinch.
Deakes tries to pull guard but Hunter holds him up against the cage and eventually Deakes drops back down to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Simple Hunter dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hunter looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Deakes is holding on to half guard well. Hunter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Deakes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Simple Hunter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hunter trying to control from Deakes's half guard. Deakes has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Hunter wants to control from the top but Deakes keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Simple Hunter has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. A nice combination there by Hunter.
Hunter closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Deakes quickly recovers to half guard. Deakes moves into full guard.
Hunter trying to control but Deakes is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunter tries to stand but Deakes is controlling from the bottom. Hunter throws a big right hand that misses. Hunter trying to stand up but can't free himself from Deakes's guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Simple Hunter wasn't doing enough on the ground. A combination from Hunter does no damage. Hunter throws a right hand that Deakes ducks under and follows up with a left that Deakes also avoids with ease.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deakes gets caught napping as Hunter dives in and scores a takedown. Deakes manages to retain guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hunter is looking to pass into half guard but Deakes pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Deakes is in guard. Deakes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Deakes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Deakes pushing down on Hunter's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Deakes is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hunter is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
