Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Urijah Fabricio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Jam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jam has chosen Transylvania as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Urijah Fabricio!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Jam!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fabricio tries to close the distance and clinch but Jam swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fabricio closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jam circles away.
Jam doesn't manage to clinch there - Fabricio circles away.
Jam circles away from the clinch attempt

and Jam counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fabricio throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Jam manages to pass to side control.
Fabricio is trying to get back to half guard.
Fabricio is trying to work for a sweep but Jam has mounted him!
Fabricio is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Fabricio keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Fabricio flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Fabricio tries to improve his position but instead Jam has taken his back!
Fabricio rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Fabricio won't allow Jam to pass to mount.

Fabricio is trying to maintain the position but Jam is very close to passing his half guard.
Fabricio preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Fabricio wants to improve his position but Jam is controlling well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fabricio has hold of Jam's hands but Jam slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Fabricio wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jam is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Fabricio is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Jam is looking for a kimura here.

Jam is tying to control. Fabricio wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Fabricio is trying is best to control the position here.
Fabricio wants to improve his position but Jam is controlling well.
Fabricio trying to hold on to Jam's head to control him but Jam postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fabricio fails with the takedown

and Jam counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jam lands a nice short elbow.

Fabricio is breathing heavily.
Fabricio is looking to stand up but Jam isn't so interested in that idea.
Fabricio not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jam is looking to clinch but Fabricio is avoiding it.

and Jam counters with a shoot takedown. Fabricio fights it but they end up in guard.
Jam wants to stand but Fabricio is controlling his posture from full guard.

Fabricio is staying active underneath Jam, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jam not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Fabricio keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Jam looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Jam is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fabricio is just riding it out for now. Jam eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
It looks like Jam is going to stand back up.

Fabricio trying to control here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Jam misses with a two punch combination.

Jam darts in and clinches Fabricio up against the cage.
Fabricio tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Jam creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Jam ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jam no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Fabricio has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jam is proving hard to escape from.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Jam had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Fabricio is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jam Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Fabricio's back instead.
Fabricio covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fabricio wants to escape the position.

Jam working for the choke.
Fabricio holding both Jam 's hands and preventing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Jam showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and Jam counters with a series of strikes. Fabricio will be more careful next time no doubt.

Jam is looking to clinch but Fabricio is avoiding it.

Jam looking to control but Fabricio is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Fabricio is just holding on here. Jam manages to take his back.

Jam lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.

Fabricio wants to escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fabricio is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Jam gets his way!
Bob Jam has got the better of the ground game so far.

Jam has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Fabricio trying to control the hands but Jam breaks the grip.

Fabricio breaks Jam's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Jam looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jam keeping moving, preventing Fabricio from controlling successfully.
Fabricio is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Fabricio avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fabricio trying to control but Jam is working from the bottom.
Fabricio seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Fabricio gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bob Jam comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jam has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
