Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between J J Tucker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amir Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amir Khan told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, J J Tucker! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Amir Khan! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tucker throws a front kick that sends Khan stumbling back into the cage. Khan will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
J J Tucker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Khan misses with a series of wild punches.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tucker is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Tucker throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Khan blocks it with crossed arms. Khan is trying to force a seperation but Tucker has the dominant position. Khan is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Tucker can't fight it off and eventually Khan manages to take the fight to the floor. Tucker looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Khan throws a strike but Tucker rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Khan has his feet on Tucker's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Tucker wants to clinch and Khan counters with a head kick. That will keep Tucker thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Tucker using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Khan has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Tucker bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Amir Khan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tucker wants to clinch but Khan slips to the side and Khan counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Tucker fails in his attempt to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Tucker looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Khan explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Khan throws a sloppy head kick and Tucker counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Tucker, right into the meat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. That kick from Tucker tenderised Khan's leg. Khan is trying to keep his angry face on. Tucker looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tucker gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Khan is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tucker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Khan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Khan swinging wildly here.

Tucker moves to clinch but Khan breaks away and Khan moves into the clinch. A short left from Tucker. Tucker stops a takedown attempt from Khan.

Khan is still on wobbly legs! Can Tucker finish him? Khan takes an elbow to the temple. Tucker's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Tucker lands a big knee! That's hurt Khan! Oh, he's all over the place! Tucker lands another knee that sends Khan to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). J J Tucker! J J Tucker retains his lightweight title!
