PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Semmy Kasteel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Harbor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kasteel kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Celtic Music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Semmy Kasteel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Harbor!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kasteel tries to close the distance and clinch but Harbor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kasteel is looking to chop away at Harbor's legs.
Harbor shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kasteel sprawls well. Kasteel wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Harbor gets slowly back to his feet.
Kasteel connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Harbor moves away from the strike by Kasteel.
Kasteel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Harbor manages to avoid it.
Kasteel throws a hook but Harbor blocks it.

Harbor closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kasteel quickly recovers to half guard.
Harbor wants to free his trapped foot but Kasteel is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kasteel trying to control but Harbor postures up.
Harbor thows a huge punch but Kasteel dodges it nicely.
Kasteel looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harbor seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kasteel gets full guard.
Harbor advances to half guard.
Harbor not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Harbor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kasteel's head.
Kasteel wants to improve his position but Harbor is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Harbor is working for a submission of some sort.
Harbor tries to pass to full mount but Kasteel defends it.
Harbor throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Harbor working over Kasteel with some ground and pound. Kasteel looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Harbor working the head and body with strikes.
Kasteel is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Harbor scores with a couple of nice shots.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Harbor is working for a submission of some sort.
Kasteel keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Harbor not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Harbor is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kasteel has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kasteel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Harbor is working away from the top position though.
Harbor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kasteel's head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Harbor connects with a nice short shot to Kasteel's temple.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Harbor trying to mount his opponent but Kasteel defends it.
Harbor stalling away here and it's allowed Kasteel to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Harbor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Harbor throws a big right hand that misses.
Harbor is looking to work some ground and pound but Kasteel has wrist control.
Kasteel has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Harbor drops back looking for a leg! Kasteel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kasteel manages to kick Harbor off! Harbor jumps back into Kasteel's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Harbor wants to control from the top but Kasteel keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Harbor dominated that round.
That's time! Kasteel's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kasteel tests Harbor's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kasteel throws a jab when Harbor was well out of range.
Harbor looks to land a right hand but Kasteel moved out of range.
The crowd cheers as Kasteel lands an impressive looking overhand right. Harbor doesn't seem phased though.
Harbor shoots for a takedown but Kasteel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kasteel thows a body shot but no joy.
Kasteel fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kasteel missing with a left hand there. Harbor was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kasteel thows a body shot but no joy.
Kasteel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Harbor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kasteel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Harbor.
Semmy Kasteel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Harbor scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Harbor seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Kasteel is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). James Harbor!
James Harbor seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
