Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Dowe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 2, fighting out of New York, Humberto Montes! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montes throws a nice looking combination but Dowe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Montes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dowe.
A big left from Dowe misses. Montes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Montes closes the distance and lands a one-two. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dowe. Montes lands a jab-cross combination.
Dowe is rocked! Dowe cracks Montes with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Oh Dowe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Dowe throws a lazy right hand but Montes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Dowe seems to have got his legs back now. Montes throws a nice looking combination but Dowe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Montes closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Montes is looking for a kimura here.

Montes is looking for a kimura but Dowe is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Montes to get the leverage. Montes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dowe is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Montes's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Montes's back! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montes breaks Dowe's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Montes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Montes working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Montes looking to pass the guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Montes drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dowe dives on top into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dowe throws a head kick that misses. Dowe throws out a loose jab but Montes uses good head movement to avoid it. Montes fakes the leg kick and cracks Dowe in the body. Dowe takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Montes fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dowe on the side of the head. Dowe takes a body punch but keeps moving. Montes connects with a jab. Humberto Montes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Dowe misses with a looping left. Dowe walks into a straight right hand from Montes. Montes moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Dowe on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Montes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Montes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dowe swivels and escapes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Montes misses with a series of wild punches.

Montes slips under a jab. Montes fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dowe on the side of the head. Montes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Dowe missing with a left hand there. Montes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Dowe throws a hook to the side of Montes's head but Montes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Montes moves into the clinch successfully.
Montes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Montes's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Dowe connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Montes scrambles back to his feet. Dowe avoids the body shot from Montes.
Montes looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Dowe! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Montes tries for a kimura but Dowe is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dowe, who protects the arm well. Montes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dowe has escaped the position, nice work there. Montes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montes tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Dowe tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Montes presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Humberto Montes has got the better of the ground game so far. Montes is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dowe can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Dowe avoids a series of strikes thrown by Montes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dowe holds on to Montes as tight as he can, avoiding damage. Montes looking for a guillotine from mount but Dowe is having none of it. Montes is working for a guillotine from mount but Dowe frees his head quite easily.

Humberto Montes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Dowe looks to land a right hand but Montes moved out of range. Montes takes one to the chin there. Montes is looking to land body kicks. Montes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dowe was well out of range. Poor timing from Montes. Dowe throws a hook but Montes blocks it. Montes darts in and clinches Dowe up against the cage. Montes lands a right hand. A hook to the body from Montes.
A short right from Montes. Montes is trying to drag Dowe to the mat but Dowe just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Dowe tries for a takedown but Montes manages to get underhooks.
Montes throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Dowes head. Dowe has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Montes after a bit of a struggle. Montes lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Montes pushes Dowe back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Dowe lands a takedown into guard.
Dowe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Montes trying to control the position here.

Dowe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dowe tries to get out of the position. Montes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Montes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Montes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Montes has his foot on Dowe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dowe works his way back into a safe position though. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Montes working for a triangle but Dowe defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montes throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Dowe escapes and throws Montes's legs to the side, diving into side control! Montes manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dowe's best efforts. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Montes looking for submissions off his back. Montes looking for subs from the bottom but Dowe mounts him!
And that's the end of the fight! Humberto Montes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Montes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
