Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Claudio Alves Dutra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Samba De Oliveira!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Oliveira tries for a takedown but Alves Dutra sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
De Oliveira dives in and grabs Alves Dutra's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alves Dutra pushes down on De Oliveira's head and hops out.
De Oliveira shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alves Dutra as he jumps to the side.
Claudio Alves Dutra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samba De Oliveira.
Alves Dutra misses with a wild combination.
Alves Dutra closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alves Dutra lands in his opponent's guard.
Alves Dutra sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed De Oliveira's guard.
De Oliveira has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alves Dutra is working away from the top position though.
De Oliveira wants to control the action here but instead Alves Dutra manages to pass to full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round.
De Oliveira defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Alves Dutra.

De Oliveira tries to improve his position but instead Alves Dutra has taken his back!
Alves Dutra slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Alves Dutra is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. De Oliveira has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Alves Dutra has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! De Oliveira taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Alves Dutra doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Claudio Alves Dutra!
