Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bjj Spar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Barrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bjj Spar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Luis Barrera! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spar misses with a takedown attempt and Barrera counters with a nice uppercut. Spar blocks a jab. Barrera avoids the head kick by Spar.
Spar on the wrong end of a nice hook. Spar misses with a jab to the body
and Barrera counters with a low kick, right behind Spar 's knee. Barrera tries a low kick but Spar avoids it. Barrera lands a lovely overhand right. Spar shoots for a double leg takedown but Barrera sprawls well. He's pushed Spar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Spar throws a nice outside leg kick. Barrera stuns Spar with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Barrera shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Barrera was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's one minute gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Spar is trying to improve his position. Barrera is working Spar over with some ground and pound from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barrera throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Barrera is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Spar looks calm but he's in trouble here. Barrera gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Spar is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Barrera lets go of the hold and Spar can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Luis Barrera! Luis Barrera really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that GTI - 1337 sponsors VERSUS logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
