PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Strong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Syntha Six (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Strong comes to the cage accompanied by Ace Of Spades. The key to victory for Paul Strong has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Strong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Syntha Six!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strong blocks a head kick by Six.
Strong avoids the head kick by Six.

Strong gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Six looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Six stands up and waves to Strong to follow him.

Six throwing strikes but missing.
Six sitting in guard, not really doing much.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Strong is working an open guard so Six takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Six scores with a takedown into Strong's guard.
Strong being controlled here, momentarily.
Strong is looking to stand up but Six isn't so interested in that idea.
Six stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Strong swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Six trying to control the position from guard on top but Strong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Six looks gassed!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Six gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Strong darts in and clinches Six up against the cage.

Strong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Strong scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Six is looking to reverse the position.
Strong tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Six is not content to let Strong control the position.
Six is looking to regain half guard here but Strong keeps moving and retains side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Strong wants to control but Six is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Six is looking for a sweep.
Strong tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Six is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Six manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Strong could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Six pushes Strong off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Strong tries to clinch there but Six circles away.
Six closes the distance but Strong moves to the side
and Strong counters with a nice low kick that buckles Six's knee momentarily.
Strong avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Strong avoids the head kick by Six.
Strong shoots for a double leg takedown but Six sprawls well. He's pushed Strong's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Six throws a leg kick that is checked
and Strong counters with a stiff right hand.
The fight stays on the outside here - Strong looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Six scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Six works his way into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Six lands some shots froms side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Strong is rocked!

Six stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Syntha Six dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Six throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Strong stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Six wants to clinch up but Strong keeps it at a distance.

Six feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Six advances position into side control!

Six is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Strong is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Strong trying to remain calm as Six controls from the top position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Six has an Americana. Strong didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Six is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Six hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Syntha Six!
