Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Raymond Chow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Imperial XinZhao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raymond Chow has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Raymond Chow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Imperial XinZhao!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chow throws a shot from downtown. XinZhao moves away and avoids it.
Chow throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chow swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and XinZhao counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Chow is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Raymond Chow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

XinZhao moves into the clinch.
Chow misses with a punch on the inside.
Chow stalling.
Chow misses with a body punch.
Chow misses with a hook to the ribs.
Chow prevents the takedown attempt.
Chow softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Chow lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
A short left from XinZhao.
Chow tries to pull guard but XinZhao holds him up against the cage and eventually Chow drops back down to his feet.
Chow misses with a hook to the ribs.
XinZhao is trying to break free.
XinZhao is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Chow as XinZhao tries to tie him up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chow tries a body shot but XinZhao blocks it.

Chow breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
XinZhao shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chow defends it nicely.
Raymond Chow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Imperial XinZhao.

Chow throws a right hand that misses
and XinZhao finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Chow throws a looping overhand right but XinZhao ducks down to avoid it.
XinZhao throws a sloppy head kick and Chow moves out of range easily.
XinZhao connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Chow throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chow misses with an uppercut. XinZhao saw that one coming.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chow shoots in looking for a takedown but XinZhao manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chow's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and XinZhao counters with a right hand to the body.

Chow changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. XinZhao looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Chow tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Chow in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if XinZhao can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
XinZhao tries to improve position but can't.
XinZhao really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Chow fails to land a wild elbow strike.

XinZhao is not content to let Chow control the position.
XinZhao is trying to improve his position.
XinZhao dodges the ground and pound from Chow.
Chow works to advance to full mount. XinZhao defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Chow lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Chow scoring with strikes but XinZhao is staying in there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chow scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Chow prevents XinZhao from getting the reversal.
This has been an exciting period of action!

XinZhao tries to get back to half guard but can't.

XinZhao has left one of his arms exposed and Chow doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. XinZhao screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Raymond Chow!
