Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Flavio Marcelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucio Rodrigues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcelo comes to the cage accompanied by Nicky Romero - Toulouse. Rodrigues is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sandstorm. On his way into the cage it seems that Flavio Marcelo has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Flavio Marcelo seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Flavio Marcelo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucio Rodrigues!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcelo misses with a body shot.
Marcelo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rodrigues.
Marcelo doesn't manage to clinch there - Rodrigues circles away.
The fighters circling - Marcelo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Marcelo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Marcelo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rodrigues manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rodrigues misses with a looping left.
Rodrigues throws a jab but it's blocked by Marcelo.

Rodrigues steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Marcelo. That one must have hurt.
Rodrigues shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Marcelo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marcelo is really struggling to control Rodrigues but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Rodrigues is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Marcelo scores with a head kick. Rodrigues tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Lucio Rodrigues has been cut.
Marcelo getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Marcelo is looking to slow Rodrigues down with leg kicks.
Marcelo tries to clinch but Rodrigues is having none of it.
Rodrigues drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Rodrigues postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Marcelo regains half guard.
Rodrigues seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Marcelo is looking to control Rodrigues's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Marcelo avoid being mounted?

Rodrigues is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Marcelo to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Marcelo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rodrigues controls the pace.
Rodrigues throws a big elbow that misses.
Marcelo tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rodrigues thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rodrigues postures up in Marcelo's guard and throws a big left but Marcelo blocks it.
Rodrigues won't allow Marcelo to sweep him here.
Rodrigues trying to control but Marcelo is working from the bottom.
Rodrigues trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Marcelo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rodrigues is aware though and is defending well.
Rodrigues drops back, looking for a kneebar! Marcelo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Marcelo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Marcelo!
Rodrigues regains half guard.
Rodrigues is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Marcelo pulls his head out easily.
Marcelo is looking for a kimura but Rodrigues is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Marcelo to get the leverage.

Rodrigues looking for submissions off his back.
Marcelo is working for a submission of some sort.
Rodrigues gets back to full guard.
Marcelo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rodrigues has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Marcelo has managed to get both his arms back between Rodrigues's legs - danger averted.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rodrigues is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Marcelo defends well.
Rodrigues keeping moving, preventing Marcelo from controlling successfully.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Flavio Marcelo will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Lucio Rodrigues's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Rodrigues takes one to the chin there.
Rodrigues tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marcelo was well out of range. Poor timing from Rodrigues.

Rodrigues is looking for a choke. Marcelo gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Marcelo manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Rodrigues is breathing heavily.
Rodrigues can't keep his opponent in guard - Marcelo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Rodrigues has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Marcelo. Oh but Rodrigues has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Marcelo goes limp - he's gone! Rodrigues jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
