Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Osman Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Osman Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nigel Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coleman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Brown was covering up waiting for the punch and Coleman finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Coleman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Coleman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Coleman makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Coleman lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Brown utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Coleman with a flurry of punches that miss.

Coleman prevents Brown from getting back to his feet.
Coleman is looking to work some ground and pound but Brown has wrist control.
Coleman trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Osman Brown.
Brown swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Coleman blocks a jab.

A big left from Brown misses.
Coleman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Brown throws out the jab.

Coleman drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brown could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Brown wants to stand but Coleman is controlling the position.
Brown working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Coleman.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brown utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Brown looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Osman Brown just wasn't active enough.

Coleman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Coleman landing strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coleman happy to just control the position for now.
Coleman throws an elbow but Brown slips to the side and avoids it well.

Brown tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Brown wants to get back to his feet but Coleman drags him back down.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Nigel Coleman has been cut.

Brown closes the distance and pushes Coleman back into the cage.

Brown wants to control from the top but Coleman keeps moving.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Coleman can do anything to dispel that myth.
Brown won't allow Coleman to sweep him here.
Brown slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Osman Brown wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Coleman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Brown rushes Coleman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Coleman blocks an uppercut.
Brown lands a shoulder strike.

Coleman is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Brown can't fight it off and eventually Coleman manages to take the fight to the floor. Brown looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Coleman is looking to work some ground and pound but Brown has wrist control.

Brown pulls Coleman in close to his closed guard and prevents Coleman from doing any damage or advancing position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because Osman Brown wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Coleman ducks under a wild hook from Brown.

Coleman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brown manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Coleman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Coleman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Brown is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Coleman throws a strike but Brown rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Nigel Coleman will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The cut man is working on Nigel Coleman's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Brown is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Coleman.

Coleman jumps guard and drags Brown to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Coleman kicks Brown off and gets to his feet.
Brown tries to bum rush Coleman with a series of wild strikes but Coleman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Osman Brown has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Nice cross by Brown.
The fighters circling - Brown throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Coleman shoots in and gets a takedown into Brown's guard.
Coleman trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom.

Brown isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Coleman stacks Brown on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Coleman!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Check out the look on Coleman's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Brown tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Brown is in all sorts of trouble here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Coleman landing strikes from the mount.
Brown is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Coleman with shots to the head and body - Brown looks very uncomfortable down there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Coleman lands a big elbow.

Nigel Coleman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Coleman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
