The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deryk looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Raijkovic is fending him off so far but Deryk persists. Nope, Raijkovic circles away and we're back to standing.

Deryk is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

and Raijkovic holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Deryk jumps guard but Raijkovic stands there with Deryk around his waist. Deryk gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Deryk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Raijkovic swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Raijkovic has his foot on Deryk's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Deryk works his way back into a safe position though.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Raijkovic counters by clinching up.

Raijkovic has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Deryk uses from the top position.
Deryk has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Raijkovic is proving hard to escape from.

Raijkovic had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Deryk is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Raijkovic Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Deryk's back instead.
Raijkovic has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Deryk has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Deryk is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Raijkovic jumps into side control!

Raijkovic has hold of Deryk's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Deryk seems comfortable defending it but Raijkovic has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Deryk is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Deryk is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Raijkovic couldn't care less - he's delighted!
