0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Emmanuel Kuntz! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alexander pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Oooh a lovely combination from Kuntz sends Alexander down but not out. Kuntz dives into side control looking to finish.
It looks like Sean Alexander has been cut. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kuntz is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Alexander will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Kuntz prevents Alexander from escaping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alexander sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Alexander is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kuntz pulls his head out easily. Alexander is trying to stand back up but Kuntz is controlling him
Kuntz sitting and controlling from the half guard. Kuntz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alexander. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kuntz trying to mount his opponent but Alexander defends it.

Alexander has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kuntz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kuntz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kuntz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kuntz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alexander is keeping the position for now. Kuntz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Alexander wants to sweep but no luck. Alexander working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kuntz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kuntz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alexander wants to get back to his feet but Kuntz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuntz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alexander has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kuntz has managed to get both his arms back between Alexander's legs - danger averted. Alexander is breathing heavily. Kuntz controls from within his opponent's guard. Kuntz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Alexander is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kuntz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Alexander escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kuntz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kuntz gets to his feet - Alexander follows without any prompting. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kuntz lands a right hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Emmanuel Kuntz will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Sean Alexander's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kuntz misses with a jab, cross combination.
Alexander walks into a straight right hand from Kuntz. Kuntz ducks under a wild hook from Alexander. Kuntz lands a nice shot that snaps Alexander's head back.

Kuntz works the jab nicely. Kuntz gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Kuntz lands with a right to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Alexander drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Alexander is looking to take this one to the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kuntz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. A bit of stalling here from Kuntz.
Kuntz tries to break the clinch but Alexander is controlling the position. Kuntz is pushing Alexander up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alexander is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Alexander. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alexander tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kuntz avoids it. Kuntz prevents Alexander from breaking the clinch. Alexander has Kuntz pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kuntz manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. A frustrated look appears on Kuntz's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kuntz manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kuntz controlling Alexander's posture. Alexander wants to stand but Kuntz is controlling his posture from full guard. Kuntz wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alexander drops back looking for a leg! Kuntz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kuntz manages to kick Alexander off! Alexander jumps back into Kuntz's guard. Kuntz trying to control the position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alexander throwing strikes from guard but Kuntz blocks nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alexander has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kuntz is proving hard to escape from. Alexander lands a couple of elbows. Alexander wants to stand but Kuntz has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kuntz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Alexander. Alexander is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kuntz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alexander drops back looking for a leg! Kuntz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kuntz manages to kick Alexander off! Alexander jumps back into Kuntz's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kuntz can do anything to dispel that myth. Alexander passes Kuntz's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Alexander landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kuntz makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kuntz. Alexander drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alexander jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Emmanuel Kuntz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Sean Alexander's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Alexander walks into a stiff left hand from Kuntz. Kuntz lands a right hook to the body.
Alexander walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Kuntz lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Alexander falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
