Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kimbo Dakis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arkom Tidat!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dakis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dakis lands in his opponent's guard.
Dakis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Tidat wants to stand but Dakis is controlling the position.
Dakis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dakis drops back looking for a leg! Tidat is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tidat manages to kick Dakis off! Dakis jumps back into Tidat's guard.
Tidat is looking to stand up but Dakis isn't so interested in that idea.
Dakis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dakis advances to half guard.
Tidat blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dakis.
Tidat wants to get back to his feet.
Dakis is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dakis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tidat has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dakis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dakis prevents Tidat from standing back up.
Dakis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Tidat tries to kick Dakis off but Dakis keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Tidat looks winded!
Tidat is in trouble now - Dakis has advanced to mount!
Tidat has left one of his arms exposed and Dakis doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Tidat screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
