The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Astoria catches Rivera right on the button with a cross.
Astoria stuffs the takedown.
Arturo Rivera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rivera looks for a takedown but Astoria sprawls well.
Rivera gets a takedown into half guard.
Rivera works his foot free and advances to mount.

Astoria tries to escape but Rivera has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Astoria wants to hold on but Rivera pushes him away.
Astoria's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Astoria bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Astoria wants to stand but Rivera has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Astoria controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Rivera has his foot on Astoria's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Astoria works his way back into a safe position though.
Rivera looking for a triangle here. Astoria is fighting it but it looks tight! Rivera pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Astoria is tapping out - this one is all over!
