Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Hector Valdemes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Troy Brown! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown moves into the clinch. Brown breaks the clinch.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Valdemes enables Brown to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Valdemes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Brown got a little sloppy there for a moment and Valdemes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brown has managed to get both his arms back between Valdemes's legs - danger averted. Valdemes is trying to control the position but Brown postures up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Valdemes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brown doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brown manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Valdemes has his foot on Brown's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brown works his way back into a safe position though. Valdemes looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Valdemes keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully. Valdemes has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Brown should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Valdemes has tightened it up now! Brown should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
