Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Pope - just one landing.
Pope goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
McDougle tries to clinch up but Pope circles away and keeps his distance.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pope is trying to push McDougle away but McDougle has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Pope tries for a takedown. No joy.
Pope changes levels and goes for a takedown here. McDougle fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Pope shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pope showed some decent athleticism there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McDougle is trying to get back to full guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pope lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McDougle is not content to let Pope control the position.
Pope looks to land a strike but McDougle avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Pope is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
McDougle checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Pope shoots in but no luck this time.
Killian McDougle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Pope.
Pope keeps the fight on the outside.
Pope tries to clinch up but McDougle circles away and keeps his distance.
McDougle shoots in for a takedown but Pope shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

McDougle steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Pope. That one must have hurt.
McDougle takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Pope misses with a leg kick
and McDougle counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
McDougle is trying to break the clinch but Pope has him pressed against the cage.
Pope ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pope no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Pope manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McDougle manages to get himself to full guard.
Pope is pushing down on McDougle's leg trying to pass to half guard. McDougle is fighting to maintain full guard but Pope has managed to sneak the leg through.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McDougle tries to roll over but Pope keeps him under control.
Pope seems to be working for a kimura but McDougle defends the submission attempt.
Pope slips a nice elbow through McDougle's hands, connecting with McDougle's forehead.

Pope lands with a punch from half guard.
Pope seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McDougle does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Pope is sneakily working for an arm triangle but McDougle sees it coming and defends easily.

Pope throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
McDougle might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pope lands strikes from half guard.
Pope is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McDougle is just riding it out for now. Pope eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pope drops an elbow to the side of McDougle's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jesus Pope dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
McDougle scores with a takedown into Pope's guard.
McDougle won't allow Pope to sweep him here.

Pope wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Pope defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McDougle.
Pope darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Pope tries to pass to full mount but McDougle defends it.

Jesus Pope has got the better of the ground game so far.
Pope wants to control but McDougle is keeping him busy.
Pope is trying to ground and pound but McDougle uses the momentary lack of control by Pope to regain half guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pope cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

McDougle tries to lock up and control but Pope gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Pope landing punches.
Pope fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Pope with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Whack. That's a big, big shot from Pope! McDougle is out cold! This one is all over!
