The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hicks did well to prevent Wi getting side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hicks wants to improve his position but Wi is controlling well.

Wi seems to be working for a kimura but Hicks defends the submission attempt.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wi connects with a nice short shot to Hicks's temple.

Wi maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Hicks could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Wi has cracked it and Hicks is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Wi!
