PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dallas Devil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Devil tries a head kick but it misses.

Silva closes the distance and pushes Devil back into the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Devil shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Devil gets slowly back to his feet.

Silva throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Devil.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Devil tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Devil shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Devil keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Devil throws a lazy right hand but Silva sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Devil lunges at Silva with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Silva's hand.

That was a close second round but I would say that Wanderlei Silva will probably get the nod.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wanderlei Silva.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
