Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Scott Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ister Band!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Band is defended easily by Sanchez.
Scott Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sanchez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Band is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sanchez defends well.

Band is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sanchez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Band on the ground.

Band is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Band breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No luck for Band with that takedown attempt.

Sanchez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

and Band counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Band fails with the takedown.
Scott Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ister Band.
Sanchez tries to clinch but Band moves out of range.

Sanchez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sanchez lands in his opponent's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Band has his feet on Sanchez's thighs here. He's pushed Sanchez off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Sanchez screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
