Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damo Michael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Darker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Damo Michael!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Darker!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michael shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Darker counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Darker gets underhooks to prevent Michael's takedown attempt.
Michael misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Darker.
Darker manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Darker drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Michael gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Michael taking a breather.
Michael lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Darker is looking to take this one to the mat.
Michael tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Darker smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damo Michael. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Darker displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Michael.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Michael tries for a takedown but Darker circles away easily

and Darker moves into the clinch.

Darker pulls Michael into guard.
Michael could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Darker keeping moving, preventing Michael from controlling successfully.
Darker seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Darker pushes Michael off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Michael misses with a low kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Michael fails with a takedown attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Darker is defended easily by Michael.
Darker looks to land a body kick but Michael moved away.
Michael with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Michael shoots in but no luck this time.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Darker checks a leg kick.

Darker looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Darker works his way into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Darker stands up.
Michael wants to slow Darker down by chopping away at his legs.
Michael tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Michael shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Darker moves into the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Darker tries to pull guard but Michael forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Darker is trying to pull guard but Michael has him pressed against the cage.
Michael drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Darker gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Michael wants to get back to striking at distance but Darker won't allow it.
Michael tries to break the clinch but Darker is controlling the position.
Michael tries to pull guard but Darker holds him up against the cage and eventually Michael drops back down to his feet.
Michael blocks a body shot from Darker.
Michael has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Darker avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Michael breaks the clinch.
Michael tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Darker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Michael listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Darker displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Michael.

Darker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Darker dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Michael shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Darker defends it nicely.

Darker clinches.

Darker manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Darker is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Michael rolls with it to try and escape but Darker cranks on the arm and Michael is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). David Darker!
